YUTURI LODGE
About 180 kilometers from Coca, the Yuturi Lodge is to be found
surrounded by impressive primary forest and three lagoons. During
your stay, you can observe more than 500 kinds of birds, innumerous
animals and many flowers and plants. Other fascinating adventures
such as nocturnal rides with the canoe, piranha fishing or the visit
of the isle of monkeys await you.
3 Nights / 4 Days - Monday to
Friday
Day 1: Quito - Coca - Yuturi Lodge
Fly from Quito to Coca which is also called Francisco de Orellana
where you will be welcomed by a representative of the lodge. By
boat, you are traveling down the Napo River until you reach the
lodge at approximately 5 pm. After dinner, a nocturnal trip into
the jungle awaits you. Walk along the Parahuaco Trek and meet nocturnal
rodents, insects and birds and listen to the concert of the rainforest.
Day 2: Day trip to the lagoon - canoe ride - Piranha fishing
During the morning twilight, you will go by canoe to the lagoon
of Yuturi to listen to the different voices of the birds. Upon arrival
back in the lodge, breakfast will be served. Strengthen yourself
because after breakfast your exploring trip continues. By canoe,
you will go to the lagoon of Manduro to undertake a hike in order
to observe more of the local birds. Lunch in the jungle. In the
afternoon, a very special event awaits you: you will fish piranhas!
And after dinner, the rainforest invites you to a nocturnal trip:
get into the piraguas (small boats) and explore the lagoons by nighttime!
Day 3: Yarina Biosphere Reserve - Yuturi Nature Reserve
Very early in the morning, you start your trip into the Yarina
Biosphere Reserve. Along the 4 hours boat ride, you will stop two
times. The first one takes you directly to the local inhabitants
where you will meet a family and get to know their way of living;
also the chance of purchasing products of handicraft. The second
stop will be at the Isla de los choronogs, monkey island. This 20
hectares area is part of the Yuturi Nature Reserve. Afterwards,
you will go to Yarina where you climb up an observation tower and
do a little hike. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4: Yuturi Lodge - Coca - Quito
After an exciting stay in the Ecuadorian rainforest, you can enter
your boat that takes you back to Coca from where you fly back to
Quito safely.

Day 2: Yuturi Lagune - Manduro Lagoon - Piranha fishing
Go by boat to the lagoon of Yuturi and enjoy during the ride the
fantastic concert if the innumerous birds that are only to be found
here. Upon arrival at the lodge, breakfast will be served and then
it is time to go again: a canoe will take you to the lagoon of Manuro
where you will hike through natural vegetation to see colonies oif
birds and their nests. Lunch in the jungle. In the afternoon, it
is time to catch one of the most dangerous animals in the rivers:
try your luck with piranha fishing! Dinner and accommodation.
Day 3: Adventure hike - Weaponry - Nocturnal ride
After breakfast, you will start into an exciting and unforgettable
day 3: 3 hours of adventure! Stroll through the rainforest and get
to know medical plants that are still used by the locals, daily.
You have the chance to observe parrots, parakeets, tucans and other
exotic animals that live here. In the afternoon, your local guide
will introduce to you some of the weapons of the rainforest: boduguera
and cerbatana. After the dinner, you will go on a nocturnal ride
in piraguas (small boats) along the Yuturi River.
