nature than in Ecuador. We have set up several itineraries for you,
like classical Ecuador roundtrips, Ecuador in modules and
Ecuador in special themes, on which you can experience
the best of Ecuador in a limited period of time.
The itineraries depend on arrival and departure times of different
airlines, ships and the train to the legendary 'Devil's Nose'. The
following examples are only proposals and can be altered any time
according to your wishes and interests. We are more than glad to

Day 1: Quito
Arrival in Quito and transfer from the Mariscal Sucre Airport to
hotel. This attractive and especially beautiful city is surrounded
by snow-covered volcanoes, and lies only 22 kilometres from the
Equator Line.

Day 2 - 3: Mitad del Mundo and Cloud Forest
Reserve
On the way to Mindo you will stop in “Mitad del Mundo“
(Equator line), where you will visit the equator monument and various
museums. Continue your journey to the Mindo Cloud Forest region,
only 2 hours northwest of Quito, where you can experience activities
such as birdwatching, tubing or river crossing with ropeways. Discover
the unique mountain cloud forest on hikes, walks and rafting trips,
and marvel at the enormous diversity of plants and animals in this
region.

Day 4: Cotopaxi National Park
Drive to Cotopaxi National Park, situated just 2 hours south Quito,
which has been declared National Park on 11th of August 1975 covers
34.000ha and here you can enjoy the extraordinary páramo
landscape, a unique, humid cold grass zone between 3500 and 4700m
of altitude. Discover the surroundings on trekking tours, horseback
riding trips and relaxing walks.
Day 5: Cotopaxi
Main highlight of Cotopaxi National Park is of course the worldwide
highest active Cotopaxi Volcano and with its 5897m the snow giant
attracts every year over 40.000 visitors. After a 3 hours drive
you reach the parking lot at 4.600 m, from here it goes by foot
to the José Rivas Refuge at an altitude of 4.800m. After
lunch you walk towards the glacier and in the afternoon you return
to the refuge for dinner and accommodation.
Day 6: Cotopaxi
From the José Riba shelter at 4800m you start just after
midnight your ascent to the peak of Cotopaxi, which will last about
6 to 7 hours, to enjoy the magnificent sunset on the summit. Ascending
to the summit of Cotopaxi summit is optional and there can also
be arranged other activities in the National Park such as horseback
riding, trekking or biking.
For the afternoon there are two possibilities how you can continue
your journey with integrated rainforest programme.

Day 7 - 10: Rainforest adventure
In no other country you can visit the lowlands of the Amazon easier
than in Ecuador. The largest area of Ecuador constitutes the Amazon
region, also called the 'Oriente', east of the Andean range. Discover
the fascinating Ecuadorian jungle with activities such as canoeing,
rafting, birdwatching, kayaking, hiking and night walks. It is possible
to experience in only a few days the Amazon region, which offers
tourists an insight into the diverse and breathtaking flora and
fauna of the rainforest.

Day 11: Quito
On a city sightseeing tour you will visit the monastery of San Agustín,
the church of San Francisco, as well as the Plaza de la Independencia,
which is surrounded by the governmental palace and the cathedral.
Further points of interest are the beautiful district of Guápulo,
as well as the "Panecillo" with the statue of the virgin,
a hill in the south of Quito, which offers lovely views of the city
and the surrounding volcanoes. Submerge yourself into the history
of Quito during this unforgettable city walk!

From Cotopaxi National Park – continuation to Baños.
Day 7: Baños
The name of the town alone (Baños=baths) refers to a
plethora of swimming pools partly using the thermal water of Tungurahua.
Here you have time to relax and enjoy the town and its wonderful
surroundings or to go on various outdoor activity trips.

Day 8- 11: Rainforest adventure
Experience the change of vegetation during a contrasting drive from
Andes into the Amazon lowlands and submerge yourself into the world
of the Ecuadorian rainforest.
Our partner lodge Casa del Suizo Lodge is situated at the shore
of the majestic Napo River and overlooks vast areas of the surrounding
Amazon region. Discover the rainforest on trips, learn about flora
and fauna and visit the village of Ahuano where you can experience
