The standard program offers one– to–one teaching which must not necessarily take place in the school itself. If arrangements are made, there is also a possibility of lessons for 2 people and a maximum of four.
Standard class
You can decide on your own, how many classes you take a week, because
your personal schedule is being adapted to your time at disposal.
It is very important to this language school that your knowledge
is not only acquired in the classroom, but also approved in daily
life settings, which is why you will cope with day to day situations
in company of your personal Spanish teacher during your different
trips. You will also be prepared in your lessons about different
subjects - the ones which interest you most.
At La Lengua Spanish School your tuition is not bound to take place
in Quito or any other place. Choose for yourself between different
kinds of programs in which region you want to learn the language
while you get to know the country, its geography and culture.
All programs can be combined with trips to the Galapagos Island.
But there is no possibility to take lessons there.
Quito
In the heart of the capital you can also take cooking classes and
dancing lessons. The city and its surroundings offer a lot to visit
during day- or weekend trips, at which you will exert your newly
acquired language knowledge in company of your Spanish teacher.
Get to know e.g. the middle of the world (Mitad del Mundo).
If you wish we can find you a Ecuadorian host family where you can
stay in a nice atmosphere.
At the coast: Puerto López
In this dreamy fishing village in the Machalilla National Park,
at the coast of the Pacific Ocean you will get one-to-one Spanish
lessons at La Lengua – the only Spanish school at this place
– while you can enjoy e.g. the local culinary specialties.
This place is an excellent starting point to visit the National
Park or e.g. the “Isla de la Plata”, an Island which
has a similar biota as the Galapagos Islands.
Here in Puerto López you’ll be placed in Bungalows
where a resident family will be in charge of your wellbeing.
In the jungle
At the bay of the Rio Napo you’ll combine the adventure of
the Amazon with language lessons – in company of your Spanish
teacher. Alone or with a partner you will get four hours of Spanish
lessons every day. After this you’ll venture hikes, boat tours
and other activities in company of your local guide – borne
and raised in the region – so you will get to know the local
culture and biota.
You’ll be staying at a jungle lodge, where you will be living
in “Cabañas”, roomy huts (with private bathroom)
made of bamboo and palm leaves. La Lengua offers two different lodges
in diverse parts of the Jungle to their customers.
The highlands: Otavalo
Two hours north of Quito is Otavalo, famous for its gaudy Market,
where you can buy most of all traditional Indian cloth. Starting
from here you can take trips to Ibarra, the white city, Cotacachi,
famous for its leather production, the “San Pedro” Waterfall,
lakes or other places of interest.
The Hotel Otavalo Prince in the center of the city will host you
in single rooms with private bathrooms.
| STUDY TRIP – 4 WEEKS OF TRAVELLING AND LEARNING SPANISH |
We recommend with special emphasis the 4 Weeks Language
Trip, during which you will be constantly accompanied by your Spanish
teacher (4h of daily lessons) and travel through all regions of
the country.
In the first week you’ll visit Quito where you will not only
visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site – the historic Old Town
– but also many other attractive activities, such as taking
Salsa lessons.
Afterwards you’ll travel to Otavalo, where you will visit
the countries biggest Indian market and all the other places of
interests nearby.
On field trips starting from the Yarina Lodge you will not only
get to now the biota of the jungle, but will also hunt with a blow
tube and go piranha fishing.
During the last week you’ll visit the coast - Puerto López.
This is where you will visit an archeological museum, learn how
to surf and relax at the beach.
You always have the option to book further weekend trips and extend
your trip.
